"I honestly had my doubts that she would ever be able to go for a walk with us, stop barking at strangers, or basically listen to us in general — but they proved me wrong. We got our life back and we are now very proud parents. Best money I ever spent."

Skills and outcomes

What You'll Work On in Class

Every class focuses on real-life skills — the behaviors that make daily life with your dog easier, calmer, and more enjoyable. Here's what most families see improvement in first.

Loose Leash Walking

Walk next to you instead of dragging you down the block. One of the biggest quality-of-life improvements for most families.

Reliable Recall

Come when called — even when there's something more interesting nearby. The skill that matters most for safety.

Calm Greetings

No more jumping on guests, charging the door, or losing control when someone new arrives.

Focus Around Distractions

Listen at home and in public — not just in your living room when everything is quiet.

Impulse Control

Make better choices in challenging situations instead of reacting — the foundation of everything else.

Settle and Calm Behavior

A dog who can relax on cue, settle in a room, and bring the energy down when you need them to.

"It's definitely worth at least having the conversation at a free discovery session. The training aspect is very thorough. They give the training more to you than the dog — they teach you with your dog. I have seen results and we are only halfway through."

Why our results hold up at home — not just in class

Most training fails because it treats every dog the same. Our Canine Connection Compass system assesses every dog across four areas — Relationship, Impulse Control, Communication, and Boundaries — before we recommend anything. We find what's actually missing, then fix that.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions About Group Dog Training Classes

Group classes work best for dogs who can be in the same space as other dogs without causing harm. If your dog has significant reactivity or aggression, we recommend starting with private training to build foundational skills in a controlled environment first. After a few private sessions, many reactive dogs successfully transition to group classes. Not sure where your dog falls? That's exactly what the free discovery call is for — we'll give you an honest answer.
We intentionally keep classes small — typically 6 to 8 dogs maximum. Combined with our two-trainer approach, this means every dog gets individual attention. You won't be lost in a crowd or watching a demonstration from across the room. You'll get hands-on coaching every session.
This is the most common concern we hear — and it's worth taking seriously. The reason most training doesn't stick isn't the dog. It's that the approach wasn't designed for that specific dog, family, and situation. Our Canine Connection Compass system starts with a thorough assessment before recommending anything. That's why our results hold up at home, not just in a training room. We'd encourage you to book a free discovery call and tell us what you've tried — we'll give you an honest opinion on whether we can help.
Life happens — we understand. While we don't offer refunds for missed classes, we do our best to catch you up at the next session and provide guidance to practice at home in the meantime. Consistency is key to progress, so we encourage attending all sessions when possible.
Just bring your dog, a regular 6-foot leash, and high-value treats your dog loves. We'll let you know if your specific class requires anything additional — but we keep it simple. No need to buy expensive gear before you start.
We offer a full refund if you cancel before the first class begins. After the first session, we don't offer refunds — but we'll work with you to find solutions if the class isn't the right fit. Our goal is your success, not just your payment.
All group classes are held at our facility at 4396 Dixie Hwy #3, Waterford, MI 48329. We serve families from across Oakland County, Macomb County, and the broader Metro Detroit area. Many clients make the drive from neighboring counties because of our two-trainer class format and small class sizes.
Ready when you are

Your dog is capable of more than you think.

Most families who come to us have already tried other things. What changes isn't the dog — it's finally having the right approach, the right support, and someone who understands what you're actually dealing with at home.
