Puppies learn at an extraordinary rate in their first few months of life. The socialization window — the period when positive experiences shape how your dog sees the world — begins to close around 6 months. What your puppy learns now will influence their behavior for their entire life.
The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy® program (Socialization, Training, Activity, Responsibility) is specifically designed for this window. It’s not just about teaching your puppy to sit — it’s about teaching them to love people, other dogs, new environments, and the whole wide world.
Our AKC-approved instructors work with you individually within the group setting, addressing challenges specific to your puppy while giving them the socialization experience they need.
Earn the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Certificate & Gold Medal
After completing all 6 sessions, you and your puppy will be tested on the skills you’ve learned. Pass the test and your puppy earns an official AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy certificate, a beautiful gold medal, and a permanent listing in AKC records. The first of many achievements to come.

Not All Group Classes Are Created Equal
Two Certified Trainers Per Class
Every session has two certified trainers — one leading the class, one working individually with each dog-handler team. You get group experience and individual attention. No other facility in Metro Detroit offers this.
Max 6–8 Puppies Per Class
We deliberately limit class size so every puppy gets real attention and every owner gets real coaching. Not lost in a crowd of 20 dogs where nobody can hear the instructor.
AKC-Approved Instructors
Our trainers are AKC-approved to administer the S.T.A.R. Puppy evaluation. Your puppy earns an official AKC certificate and is listed in AKC records — not just a completion sticker.
After completing all 6 sessions and passing the final test administered by an AKC-approved evaluator, your puppy earns an official AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy certificate and this gold medal — sent directly from the American Kennel Club. Your puppy and their achievement are permanently listed in AKC records. Whether or not you pursue the official title, every puppy who passes goes home a graduate.
